Our aim

The overall aim of Filey Folk Festival is to provide a memorable weekend of folk music, fun and entertainment bringing the local community together to celebrate over 20 years of this fantastic event.  The festival gives a chance for emerging musicians to play at a festival with good audience attendance allowing them to further advance their careers.  Audiences at the festival give huge amounts of encouragement to both the experienced and inexperienced musicians they see, which is why the festival is increasing in size every year. The festival is well loved and supported by musicians from all over, both local, national and international.

We believe that Filey Folk Festival is worth supporting, we hope you do too.  Music is good for the soul, people's mental health, is memory evoking, emotive, it brings comfort, it is a universal language that people from all walk of life understand, it brings people together, it brings people to Filey.
